Craft Session – Wednesdays 1-2pm. Working in partnership with The Dundee Green Health Partnership, this session is a chance to chat and craft, bring your own work in progress or try something new at the garden. The sessions currently alternate between online (via Zoom) and in person in the garden.

Mosaic Session- Fridays 10am-12noon. Working with The Dundee Green Health Partnership to facilitate a mosaic workshop on Friday Mornings.

Past Events

Online Tea Breaks – Tuesdays and Fridays 10:30-11am. A chance for our volunteers to stay in touch when unable to meet up at the garden during stay at home restrictions January- April

Dawn Chorus Day 2nd May. Look out for online recordings of the Dawn Chorus and join in sharing your own.

Green Health Week – 8th to 16th May. We will be running Litter picks (booking required) and there will be a bird watching display to help you identify any birds you see at our bird watching area. On Monday the 10th May 10-2pm we will be at the V&A Dundee Community garden running a plant swap shop.


Online Workshops. Look out for our Online workshops in colaboration with PLANT tayport, Strathkinnes Community Garden and Yellow Wellies Gardening. Advertised on our events pages on Facebook or register with the links in the calender events.

Tuesday 28th January- The RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch. Join us in the Leaf Room for tea and biscuits from 10:30. The Big Birdwatch will take place 11am-12noon. We are hoping our local resident Great Spotted Woodpecker will visit the bird feeders for the count!

Sunday 5th March 10-1pm: Time in the garden to work on seasonal tasks, do some birdwatching, take photos or read the Sunday papers in the tranquility of the garden. All welcome, no booking required. Every first Sunday of month

Saturday March 25th 10am-3pm Seasonal gardening tasks plus learn how to dowse for water with David Drummond (1.30pm) – lets find those 9 wells!  All welcome, booking required if you would like to attend the dowsing workshop by emailing facilitator@ninewellsgarden.org.uk

Monday 3rd April / Wednesday 5th April / Friday 7th April 10am-12pm: Kids Club.Come and join us for some fun in the garden! We’ll be sowing, growing, collecting, scavenging, painting, drawing, bug hunting and a whole lot more!  Sessions are free to attend and suitable for ages 3-8. Come for 1, 2 or all 3 sessions, but booking is essential via facilitator@ninewellsgarden.org.uk  Children must be supervised – parents can join in or relax in the beautiful garden (refreshments will be provided). Please note the nearest toilet is a 5-10 minute walk from the garden.


Wednesday 12th April 12-1pm: Introduction to Mindfulness with Satyavani.  More details to follow soon.

Thursday 13th April 1-3pm Mosaic Group Join us in the garden room to create some beautiful mosaic projects.  Come with your own idea, or work on some of the garden’s pieces. All welcome, no booking required.

Sunday 23rd April 11am-3pm A SENSE OF PLACE – a drawing workshop with Dominique Cameron.  Dominique is an artist who spends a large part of her time walking and drawing what she find on her travels. She will lead a workshop in the community garden and woodland, exploring what we find in a variety of mediums, and looking at different ways of drawing . No experience is needed, just yourself and an enjoyment of looking and discovering.  Booking essential by emailing facilitator@ninewellsgarden.org.uk


Friday 28th April 1-3pm: Flora and Fauna in the Garden.  Part of Heart Tay Heart Mental Health Awareness Week http://www.heart-tay-heart.co.uk/
Join us at Ninewells Community Garden to learn more about the wide range of flora and fauna in the garden and surrounding Arboretum.  A chance to connect with nature and meet some of our resident trees and birds.  Tea and coffee will be provided in the Leaf Room afterwards.  All welcome, no booking required.

Saturday April 29th 10am-3pm Seasonal gardening tasks and workshop at 1pm with Alex Graham on how to make beautiful hanging baskets.  All welcome, booking required if you would like to attend the hanging basket workshop by emailing facilitator@ninewellsgarden.org.uk
